No email sound notification.....

I have gone into 'sounds' on my laptop , found 'new mail notification',found the sound...can click on either 'ok' or 'cancel'....but not 'apply'. How can I change this?? other sounds are ok.

I don't think you can set a sound for new mail if you've not got a default mail application set.

Goto the control panel, open internet options and click on the programs tab and make sure there is something listed under email.

The sound will only work with mail software such as outlook, thunderbird, outlook express etc etc, it won't work with most webmail.
