Following infection by - and removal of - a couple of seperate Bloodhound Exploit Trojans recently, I found that Windows De-frag on my 'C' drive no longer runs through successfully. After starting, it hangs for about five minutes, then generates the error message "De-fragmenter cannot complete as your disk contains errors. Run Scan-Disk first to remove the errors, then re-run De-fragmenter". Trouble is, Scan-Disk runs through successfully and finds no errors, but De-Fragger still produces the same message and refuses to continue - so now I can't de-frag at all. I've run Scan-Disk many times, along with Norton AV, Spybot, Ad-Aware and CW Shredder. No dice. Any ideas to repair De-fragger, or fix the problem on my disk, please....?

Install Diskeeper, or try to repair the Windows installation.
I'd go for the former, and then the latter if that doesn't work..
yeah i had the same problem, and tried a whole heap of disc diagnosis and repair software but they all came back saying it was ok. I ended up reinstalling windows and that solved the problem for about 2 weeks till my hard drive fail in spectacular fasion. so i would recommend a back up now!
