Images in Microsoft Word

Is there a way for me to place 3-6 images side by side quickly and easily, maybe autofit the width while keeping the aspect ratio in tact? What usually happens is they seem almost arranged but when i tweak them they dissapear behind each other - jump around and sometimes the text below jumps up in fornt of them....frustrating!!! Thanks in advance.
