I am running an airport express base station at home as my wireless network. It's worked seamlessly for 3/4 years. For the last six months or so, I have had a minor problem with it and can't for the life of me figure it out.
Every other day or so, I wake my laptop from sleep and the network has disappeared. Airport utility can see the network but not connect to it. Unplugging the base station and plugging it back in (and rejoining the network) sorts the problem immediately, but it's a nuisance.
Any ideas what it could be? I've tried altering the channel and interface robustness to no avail. It's WEP security but with an IP access control list. All suggestions gratefully received (the only thing I can think left to do is to put a timer switch onto the base station which will reboot it for 5 minutes during the night!)
PS Just got 3 malware warnings when trying to view the answerbank?!
This has been resolved.
It was my Nokia N97, which I had joined to the home network. I don't know why though. But since I binned the N97, the airport has been absolutely trouble-free.
I have tried that I'm afraid, I mentioned that in the third paragraph. I'm at a loss as to what it could be, I have tried everything I can think of. Just had to do it again 5 minutes ago.. how strange!
