i tried to move my pc from one room to another and had to use an extension lead from my phone socket because of that i could not connect to the internet.
i have a router with a yellow wire which goes into my pc, is there any way i can use my router without the wires?
any ideas would be good thx!
I had the same problem. I have a BT Wireless Broadband ADSL router beside the phone and a Trendnet USB adaptor which you stick into a slot in tower. This means no wires are required between router and computer tower. Hope this helps.
If it's at all possible it's far better to keep desktop computers connected using wires, wired is superior to wireless in every way apart from portability, which is not really a benefit for desktops.
I can't be bothered to cable mine so I'll put up with my wireless connection, I did run a long lead down the stairs but it didn't stand up to Molly chewing through it.
