My HP Photosmart D7160 comes up with 'Carriage jammed' but there is no paper jammed in the carriage. Is there another problem I should look at. Are these printers worth repairing?

It couldn't mean the carriage carrying the cartridges, could it?
Do the cartridges move OK?

My old hp printer had a small opening in the back of the printer. You had to check here for paper jams.
I had the same problem with an epsom, cheaper to buy a new one than repair
Unplug it, check the paper feed & replug. That will reset it.
Had a similar problem with an Epsom!........was told that they have a built in counter, and after printing a said number of pages (not sure of the number now!) they just do this!...............no point in repairing, cheaper to buy a new one!.......Throwaway society!..........
