watching youtube etc

What's happened please? when I try to watch videos on YouTube I get told that 'You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video. Download it from Adobe. ' Thing is I have done this 3 or 4 times but it has made no difference. Have I touched/changed something I shouldn't have? How can I get them back?

Have you upgraded your flash player ?
If not, try that (don't forget to click the yellow bit at the top if using Firefox).

Uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in. Then disable your anti-virus program. Download and install Adobe Flash Player from here:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Reactivate your anti-virus program.

...oops, sorry, I didn't read properly - you may not have actually upgraded your flash player despite clicking all the proper buttons due to the yellow bit I previously mentioned.

This is gonna make me sound ........... However - how do I 'disable the anti-virus program'? Do you mean delete/uninstall the whole of AVG?
