iTunes file sharing

I have a laptop connected to a university halls network. Prior to Christmas, I was able to share my libraries with other users on the network. After having had to reinstall XP about 6 weeks ago due to a virus infection, the other users no longer appear in iTunes, except for on Friday, when they mysteriousl appeared for about 2 hours, then vanished again. I've checked the file-share settings within iTunes, and everything seems OK, any ideas what the problem is?

Have you checked the settings on any Firewall you may have?

If memory serves me correctly, iTunes sharing requires port 3689 to be open.
