chuck help please mcafee and avg out of date

You have two antivirus packages installed???

If so that's probably your problem, get rid of one or the other of them.

sorry chuck got a major virus today had to restore it back to scratch with my 2 back up discs and mcafee will not download at all been onto site they were usless, keeps coming up outdated so i have took that off just put on avg and now thats saying the same thing too outdated what can i do

avg says resident shield not active and anti spyware says database is outdated i dont have a clue then m8

avg has now updated itself and is runing ok but im quite sure my pc is not 100% may have to find someone to repair it properly are pc world any good for this!!

i use avast, its free if you download the home edition.
it constantly scans and tells you if a file could be dangerous, also anything you download is scanned at point of completion.

everyone i know use it too.

Are you sure you did a full restore (i.e. formatted the hard drive) which may also be called a destructive restore.

It sounds a little like you may have done a repair install which doesn't wipe anything off the hard drive and you've left yourself with the same problem.

dont think i have cured it chuck now when i google something i keep getting redirected elsewhere gonna have to find someone who knows what there doing! its above my head. so if any one knows of someone in the dartford or gravesend area who is not going to rip me off please if you would let me know their address or its down to pc world me thinks?

Bernie, there are only 2 computer places in Dartford, Swanley Computers in Lowfield Street and a new one in the Orchard Centre (next to Carphone Warehouse). I don't know if they are any good as I've always managed to sort out any problems myself, although one of my friends uses the former.

thx all called out pc doctor to my house fixed my pc,had mega virus on it! and bought wi-fi too! he was a good man well helpful and now have he's private phone number for the future if needed!
