Just about to upgrade to W7, and have copied all of the 'personal' stuff to an external drive for safety. However, I believe that all that was copied was that which was stored in my section of 'user'. If so, does this include contacts/emails etc. If not, would it be best/easiest to save these (and anything else you guys might think of) to a USB stick and then reload if necessarhy (I have 2 or 3 of these starting with a 4gb one)? If I should save to external hardware can you advise how please? VMT for help.

Saving contacts and emails from what?

Sorry - from Windows Mail. Or will W7 automatically pick it all up?
You should have seen the Files & Settings Transfer Wizard in XP. It is now Windows Easy Transfer.
