iphone 4 deleting photos & video

Well Ive got myself one, synct it and transfered photos and video from my laptop.But I cant see how to delete any that I may want to in the future?

If it's like a three then go to camera, camera roll, click box bottom left with arrow in it, select photos to delete, delete.

go into Photos, select the tap the photo or movie, the tap the wastebasket that appears bottom right of the screen. Make sure you also change it in iTunes synch or it will reload it next time you synch

You can also plug it into your computer. Then you can browse your photo folder on the iPhone like an external drive and delete them that way.

Is it really possible to take back the photos and access them again? sometimes the memories just won't return...

So how about trying these programs for retrieving the deleted data on my smartphone? What if the phone has been stolen? Is there any other way to undelete them???
