I recently uninstalled AVG Antivirus from my father-in-laws pc ,but every time he boots up it say's windows can't find a couple of AVG files although i used AVG's uninstall facility,
I would be very grateful if anyone can help because it is driving him mad........

Start ->> Run "msconfig"

Under the Startup tab, look for any references to AVG and uncheck them. Reboot, and see if the problem persists.

Also, check in the Startup folder of the start menu, just in case, although I doubt you'll find anything there.
you also may want to go to add or remove programs and see if its there, if so, remove it. if that fails go to start, search and type in avg and delete what it comes up with. avg is a mc afee program so look for that name also. you could do what QmunkE posted but that will not change the fact that there are still some avg folders there. The reason you are getting your error is cuz there are folders still there and the program is trying to load and cannot finish without the missing folders. hope this helps.
