I have an old Canon BJ 200ex black n white only bubble jet printer that has a centronics parallel port socket. I bought a new Centronics parallel to USB printer cable in the hope that I could connect the BJ200ex to my Laptop USB printer port.

At print time the Printer does not respond at all and the print queue tells me that there is an error.

Why wont it work? the printer works perfectly with my old Windows 98 (non USB) PC.
