tesco credit card
2 Answers
I currently have a tesco credit card whichI dont use atall and have transferred my balance on it to anther credit card with a long 0% interest rate. So there is nothing on my tesco card, its just sitting there.
I want to cancel the tesco card now, keep paying off the minimum on my other card until the 0% runs out and then transfer the remaing balance back onto another Tesco credit card when I re apply for one.
Can I do this? If I cancelled the Tesco card now, how long will I have to wait to re apply? and can I cancel the card online or do I have to ring up?
Thanks

A lot of credit card companies do this to lure customers back, although most nowadays charge around 2.5% for balance transfers. I have done it several times between 2 credit card companies. It also mentions it on Moneysavingexpert

I think you will find that if Tesco realise that you are taking out a new card just to take advantage of another 0%, they will soon suss you out - the offer is for new applicants only, I think they'd treat you as a repeat client. I'd just keep the card - use it now and again and just pay it off each month to keep the card live, then look out for decent balance transfer offers from time to time. Besides, if you use the card you get the points which you can spend in Tesco - saves money too.
