Photo Imaging

I am trying to put two photos together so that I have an image of both as though they were one photo.  I have been using microsoft photo editor and understand how to cut and paste one image to another but not how to get them side by side.  On the computer I also have Adobe Photo de Luxe 2 and Paint Shop but  have no idea how to use these to get the result I want.  Can anyone help - in simple terms - or advise a web site where help might be available.

I know how to do it in Paint Shop Pro.

Create a new document in PSP (make sure it is plenty big enough to accommodate your 2 pics - you can crop the image later if needs be).

Copy your first image and paste it in to the PSP doc as a new layer (you'll see the option on the Edit menu).

Do the same with the second image.  The second one will be pasted exactly on top of the first, but as it is a new layer, you can position it wher you want (it'll be in the right mode to do that as soon as you have pasted it in).

Once you have them where you want them, use the Crop tool to draw round the finished image then select Crop from the Image menu.

Save as whatever format you want.  It'll tell you that it has to merge the layers to do this, which is fine.

Job done.  Hope that works.  Post on here again if you get stuck!

you could try "Ulead Cool 360" this a specific application that is simple to use and does most of the work for u this is helpfull for wide shot where some distotion to the images is necesary to "make ends meet2 and it can be used to do a 360� picture that can be outputted in many interesting formats !

Thank you Elfin - It's telling me that the image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap!  When I paste, it is huge and I'm struggling again!  I don't have Pro - just paint shop but you can paste in the same way so that one image is there with the other.  Is there some way I can change the format so that the image is a smaller file - if that's what I mean

Thunderchild - have just looked at that site but don't think it's quite what I want!  Thing is, I'm trying to post one picture on Ebay but which shows 2 images - either side of a piece of paper.  This is partly to save money and partly to show the prospective buyer what each piece of paper is offering.

If your images are bitmaps (.bmp), you should save them as .jpg first.

This should bring the file size down substantially.

Oh dear, Elfin - I'm now more like a quivering jelly than runny custard!  I don't understand!!!  When I save from the camera it is telling me that the pictures are saved as jpegs.  But when I open them in Paint Shop it is saying Bitmap.  Aaarrrggghhh!!!

Hmmm.  Ok well try opening them individually in PaintShop and saving them as jpg again but don't close them.  When you have them both on display individually in the right format in Paintshop, try copying one image into the other.

Fingers crossed... or you'll end up as trifle...
