Cookies needed for retaining passwords?
4 Answers
On my old laptop I used to go into an online account and each time it saved my acct name and number. Now whenever I go into the site it asks for them every time even though I have ticked the 'remember me' box!
Looking in 'help' tells me that to enable this they use a 'cookie' and that I must go into int options, privacy, and ensure I have 1st and 3rd party cookies enabled? Have done this, but still nothing happens. Any ideas where I am going wrong?
Thanks all

VHG - I went into tools and options again and this time I noticed another item at top which said 'delete browsing history' and under this were a load of ticked boxes - one said cookies. I unticked AA the boxes and now my details seem to have been retained . Yhanks for the hint - I would never have found this! I do seem to remember when I got this new laptop that I set it to delete browsing historynthinking that this just meant the websites I had visited that session. Am I thinking correctly now? It seems to be working!
Thank you
