why wont the printer work?

we have an apple macbook pro and a lexxmark pro printer which is wireless. for the last few days the printer hasnt worked, the computer says its isnt communicating with the printer. i have looked at the job message and it says: Unable to read CUPS raster data. any ideas why it isnt working?
