Email of pictures in Live Mail

Have recently moved to W7 and therefore to LiveMail. I am having difficulty in sending pictures using LiveMail. I can send ordinary emails, I can attach pictures using 'Attach File'. The problem with this is that I cannot reduce the size of the picture here, so it goes out as the full Kb size. Basically what I want to do is to left click on a picture, click on 'send to mail recipient', open the 'create mail' then send. At the moment I get the message:
An unknown error has occurred.

Port: 465

Any ideas?

What is/are the rough sizes of pictures you are attaching?
If larger than 10Mb per email, they are too big for IsP.
Resize with photo/viewing software like IrfanView.
