so why when i am using vuze does it always go around 10 - 50 kbps - i have the download speed set to 7mbps and have always downloaded around 5 mbps until recently, how can i sort it out??
Nearly all ISPs use some form of 'traffic management' (a.k.a 'throttling', 'traffic shaping' or 'packet shaping') which gives priority to certain types of internet traffic. File-sharing is nearly always at the very bottom of the list. If you file-share at peak times you're likely to get much reduced speeds.

The only ISP that refuses to use such policies is BE:

However not using traffic management risks slowing connection speeds for all users, so BE might not necessarily be your ideal solution (particularly if they've got a high 'contention ratio' = the number of users sharing a node on their system).
Im using talk talk and i used an online speed test, i am not downloading anything and i am the only person using the internet and its at 1.24 mbps, last week it was 5.7 at around this time, why is this?
If you're using a wireless connection it could be something as simple as an electronic device in your house (or even in a neighbour's house) interfering with the signal. A wired connection from your PC to your router is always best.
