Internet Explorer has stopped working

This box keeps popping up all the time now, Internet Explorer has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution to this problem....Yesterday I downloaded IE9 to see if it would stop it but its still there!!Anyone know the cause/solution.Thanks

Another Microsoft triumph.
Try using another browser, like Firefox
It will almost certainly be an add-on causing it, so try running IE without add-ons (start button > all programs > accessories > systems tools > internet explorer (no addons))

If it works OK with add-ons disabled then open IE in normal mode, click tools > manage addons and go down the list of addons and disable them all, then start enabling them one at a time, using IE for a while after each one to see which one crashes it and then remove that add-on.
Wish I was as clever as you lot. I have to scream for my son, or son-in-law when anything goes wrong. I have no idea what any of the above means.

Thanks for pointing that out in your original post, anything else you've forgotten to mention before anyone spends more time covering what you've already done?
I'm no techie either, but I know enough to know that IE is rubbish. I use Firefox; Chrome is also recommended by some users on here, although I haven't tried it myself.
Probably be quicker and easier to download firefox than to try and fix IE...

Sorry, wasn't meant to sound that way. but if people have tried things already I do wish they'd say otherwise we all just end up suggesting things that have already been tried.

the next thing is to reset IE back to default, so tools > internet options click on the advanced tab and then click on the reset button.
