A friend's Saab refuses to de-immobilise (mobilise!?). All the garages say that only a Saab dealer can help as Saab do not release the necessary information to get araound this problem. There is not even an emergency option involving the key as with a lot of other cars. Is he completely at the mercy of the dealer? for example they could say it took them 10 hours to fix and there's nothing he could do. Has anyone had this problem? any ideas or useful web sites ? Thanks

If he has original keys and they are not working he's probably stuck with a large bill from the dealer.

Certain specialist locksmiths will have computer diagnostic equipment to check the transponder system but if it's a major EMU fault might not be able to fix it. What location is your Friend?

The key fob has been checked, new batteries etc. He says the engine turns over but does not fire. The Led imobilier indicator stays on, is there anything that can be done with the key that can disarm the system?
