Saving web pages visited.

How does one make every web page they open saved temporary side by side on the bottom task bar, so that one can go back to them, click on them, and open them up?

Try right-clicking the link you want to open (and retain), click "open in new window" or similar. This should open it in a bran new instance of the browser.

If your mouse has a middle button/trackwheel often clicking a link with this button will open the page in a new tab or a new browser window.

Be aware however, AB caches the most recently opened page, so after submission on a different page you may be taken to the newst open page. Your answer will appear but you may have to pop back to the thread manually.

Why are you doing it the old fashioned way?

All modern browsers have tabs so you get one instance of your browser in the bottom task bar and then when you click on it it opens the browser window up with a row of tabs along the top of all the pages you have open so you can click on whichever tab and go straight to that page. it basically does exactly the same thing as you are asking about but with a slightly different arrangement.

Thank you for your answers, but I don't think you quite understand me I tried to explain the problem in my earlier question 'Google Toolbar' but only got one answer.

At present if I want to open up another web page but still retain the previous one I have to minimise the first one (putting it on the bottom task bar) and then open up a separate browser from my desktop to get my next web page.

Before each time I opened a web page it settled on the task bar side by side with others.

We understand as far as your explanation goes. Have you attempted the methods described in my first post?

As for every page... I am unsure. If usuing firefox try tools > options > Tabs and untick "open new windows in a new tab instead".

Also, Chuck is correct, you may find it more useful to use the tabs within a browser than the taskbar.

aog----when your page is open say it is answerbank there should be a little square at end of it ( not in address bar) click on this little square and new tab will open ready for you to go to another web page. You can then have a few pages open just click square again to open another page

With this particular web page opened,

i.e. 'Saving web pages visited. in The AnswerBank: Technology - Mozilla Firefox'.

When I click on saving web pages... on the task bar as recommended by Chuck and you Ed. all it does is to take me back to the desk top.

Then clicking it again returns me back again to this page.

Should I do a restore back to a point when it was operating as it once did?

If you press "control" when clicking on a link, this will open the web-page in a new tab.

I know you have been most helpful, and I feel embarrassed that I can't explain my problem too clearly.

I will see if I can make it any clearer.

I want to open up my Firefox browser and display AnswerBank web page.

Then I want to click on one of my pre-saved buttons i.e. Newspaper Web pages that sit on my Google Tool-bar, which will open them up, and automatically display the said page, side by side the Answerbank Page displayed on the bottom task bar.

Each time I wish to click on another newspaper button, that in turn will place it side by side with the others.

I can continue to do this untill the bar gets full and then they are all placed in a folder that also then sits on the bottom task-bar.
