Dongle?
I'm on holiday in Malta and brought my laptop as I was told I could connect to the internet through the internet cafe downstairs to our apartment. However this doesn't work as I need a log in key. Whats the best way of getting onto the internet - not sure how a dongle works or how much it will be and if I buy one can I use it anywhere?

The prices vary by provider, you top it up like a mobile phone and i don't know but i doubt a maltease provided dongle will work in the uk. Mine cost about £20 and i can't quite remember how much per minute (pay as you go) could you ask the cafe for their log in code (although i doubt they would give it to you)
Given that you're going to have to pay for something anyway, offering to pay the internet café to use their connection would seem to be the simplest solution. (Alternatively, if you only require limited internet access, forget your laptop and use the internet café like everyone else does).
