A friend of mine has an Asus Eee netbook with Linux, not Microsoft, with which I'm familiar. It's about 6 years old and she has never done anything apart from emails (gmail and Thunderbird) and some google research, but everything is running slow and I think the whole thing is clogged up. I've been looking on the web without much success for a safe Registry Cleaner for Linux. Can anyone help?

As far as I know Linux doesn't have a Registry like Microsoft so it's not possible to clog it up.
Yes, Linux has no registry.

Moreover, the notion that the registry is "clogging" Windows is largely a myth perpetrated by those trying to sell the "cleaners".
Why not give Bleachbit a go. It's in the Software Centre or Synaptic.
See; http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/ for further info.
I use Ubuntu 11.04
