McAfee Warning.
I keep getting McAfee across top of screen when only AB is open, saying that some content has been blocked due to potentially dangerous or suspicious sites. It gives me the option of viewing all blocked content but have not allowed. Is anyone else experiencing the same. Your input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Due to me more often than not only using 'Quizzes & Puzzles' I did post it there but it was suggested I post here.

1) Remove McAfee entirely from your system.

2) Download and install this: http://windows.micros...s/security-essentials

The one in Q&P has been removed.

It's almost certainly an advert it's detecting as being unsafe content. it's probably safe to allow it but not allowing it shouldn't cause any issues.

LOL..... I do agree that Mcafee isn't the best solution for AV :)

It could have been worse, though - the OP could have been using Kaspersky... ;-)

Trouble is unless you know what you are doing it is easy to fall for the advice from the person selling you the stuff.... thanks to your advice I now have MS Security essentials but I was sold Kaspersky with my PC as part of the package.

Thank you all for your input. Thinking of moving from McAfee on its expiry. It is currently covering the 3 computers we have.

Yeah the free ones are great - funny though how you see so many questions on here about how to remove a virus from people who have one or other of the well-known, free AV packages.

The only free solution I'd consider is SE, and even then only on Win7 - simply because on every XP machine I've tried it on, it slugged the performance.

Never tried it with Vista, vivandron, as I only have W7, XP and Linux machines, so I'll take your word for it.
