Since logging on today, about 30 minutes ago, the site keeps freezing and I've had to use 'recover page' about 4 times.
I'm using IE9 and it's only happening with this site............any ideas?

AB Towers servers are licenced for a set number of connections/sec, and when the number of user conections attempting to connect to AB at the same time is greater than the license conditions, then the server will start to queue the connecton requests until there is a space available to handle your PC's request to be served by this site. This will inevitably...

That explains a lot Tony :-)
Please smile craft when I say that tony and I are still waiting for you to disclose your memories of 'Belts and Braces' which were mentioned in an earlier thread about Browsers.:-)

Ron.
Yeah your right vivandorron, c'mon crafty do tell.
tony...I think craft thought, when you made reference to my 'belt & bracers' approach to browsers, you were referring to trousers.:-)

I still think she could explain herself without getting her knickers in a twist.

Ron
chi-chi. Possibly something to do with cookies. Ebay has a similar problem. Clear your history and it may well go away.
seajaypea...thanks, will try that!
I've been having the same problem but not just this site the "not responding" bar at the bottom coming up and it freezes (sooo annoying when I've just typed a load of something). I've been clearing my history, should I do it with cookies and such too?
Folks, I posted about how we fixed ours (middle of previous page) - try it.
I am now being 100% serious.

Are all those of you who are having/had problems, working with IE9; which is questionable as to whether or not it is better than IE8 ?... Incidentally, I still have IE8 as purely a 'back-up' Browser and I recall having read somewhere in the columns of AB that the best purpose to which IE can be put is to download a better Browser.

You can have as many Browsers as you like, so it's worth having a try with something else. You can still retain IE and make it your default Browser; although I have made Firefox mine.

Ron.
PS....Although SeaJayPea has suggested clearing your history, which could possibly improve matters, I would suggest that you avoid clearing out cookies; unless you are positive about what you are doing. You could end-up being unable to use AB....Read this and think carefully:-

IE9 is much better than IE8...............
"IE9 is much better than IE8"

It is. I use it on my Win7 machine, it's pretty good and doesn't take all available memory as FF does.

Has the problem stayed "fixed"?

For those with sign-in problems, please post over here: http://www.theanswerb.../Question1141717.html and answer the questions.
