Annoying flashing thingy!

Does anyone else keep getting some blue flashy thing that says 'congratulations you are today's winner of some I phone'. Mr. cupid tried
pressing the 'x' which he thought would get rid of it but lo and behold it
still pops up several times a day. Anyone know if it's possible to get rid and how?

I wish mine would, tenrec. It makes mr.cupid go berserk and shout obscenities at the computer, lol!

No. but it'll be some ad. You can block them if they get too annoying. It seems pressing the X does get rid of it, until next time.

You should have a pop up blocker at least on your pc.

I don't think it's a pop-up, if it is, it's the only one I get!

Pressing the X is as good as installing its malware to your computer.

NEVER click on anything on these kind of adverts,

squarebear's answer plus 1. Never ever click on the ad. The x is just part of the image not a button.

It isn't a pop up but an ad embedded in the page.

The easiest way to get it out of sight is to scroll or if it is at the side put the browser window off Maximize and move the offending part of the window off the screen.

Another alternative is to put up a small window and make it stay on top so you can cover the ad.
