Problem carrying out a google search.
7 Answers
Something strange has happened to my Google search facility.
Before I could have the AnswerBank page displayed and then wishing to do a google search I once could enter my search details in the box, hold down the 'shift' key and then press search.
The results would then appear and the original AnswerBank page would sit on the bottom toolbar, this could then be recovered by clicking on it and it would be displayed and the search details transferred to the bottom toolbar.
But now when I carry out this same task all that happens is for a blank Firefox page to appear, and sometimes the original AnserBank page disappears to be replaced by the search details.
Sorry for the lengthy description but it is the only way that I can describe my fault.

Now if I type my search subject say 'London', into the search window in the 'Navigation Toolbar'
Hold down my 'Shift Key' and then click 'Search'
The new tab titled Mozilla Firefox, appears in the bottom menu bar and loads a blank Firefox page.
The tab named 'Problem carrying... then switches to being called London-Google S... and the other one remains as Mozilla Firefox.

They are not tabs in the bottom menu bar, they are separate instances of firefox (so you're loading two copies of it)
Tabs are shown at the top of the firefox window, like this

Just the the right of the right most tab there will be a little + button, just click the plus which will open a new tab, you can then use the new tab to search and just click on the AB tab to switch back to it at anytime you want.

Thank you for getting back on this problem Chuck, I will try doing that from now on.
However do you not know why the Firefox repeats have suddenly started acting in this way?
Also when I switch on my computer I get this message up on my screen,
