Is It Just ME............?
13 Answers
Greetings each.
Is anybody else getting wound-up over these new double-underlined hyperlinks which now seem to inhabit every block of text which appears on the internet? Is it just me who is experiencing the problem?
These links seem to appear in many different colours, but invariably lead to an online "survey" or a "search" facility.
Does anyone know how/why these nasty irritations are suddenly appearing, please?
Be good!
Cheers.

The links and the popups are created by javascript which is called up by the web-page - so they're legitimately part of the site.
From my own experience, the scripts are most often provided by a site called " intellitxt. com".

I wish I got paid commission every time I typed the following words!
That sounds suspiciously like there might be some malware on your computer, which is generating the dodgy links. Download, install and run the free version of Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware:

Sorry Chris but there ain't any malware on this heap of junk! I have been running AVG Pro for many years now without any problems: not YET anyway.
Sir Alec seems to have hit the nail squarely on the head with his response which suggests some collusion by the individual website owners where these links appear.
I maintain four sites of my own and no such links appear on them.
When I read Sir Alec's response earlier the word "survey" was actually hyperlinked as in my original question, although it seems to have disappeared again now.
Happy days.
Thanks anyway.
Stay good!
Cheers.

From my own experience, the scripts are most often provided by a site called "intellitxt.com".
So, blocking scripts from that site will usually get rid of the annoyances.
There's a wikipedia article which describes this tuff :
