Spotify music streaming

I'm hoping people on here can clear something up for me.

Basically, we're having a party at a bar where we've hired out the upstairs. We have been told that instead of forking out money for a DJ we can provide our own music as there is an iPod docking station at the venue.

I don't currently have many songs on my iPod as its fairly new. I don't want to particularly pay for the songs I want from iTunes as I have already spent a fair amount on the venue and I'm looking at around 45-50 songs. There's the option of downloading from Internet but that's illegal so don't want to go down that road.

I came across spotify, which I have heard of before, but never really signed up to. I notice that they do a 30 day free trial period for the premium account which apparently entitles you to unlimited streaming to your device ready to listen to offline at your own leisure. After the 30 days it's £10 a month, but apparently it's easy to cancel.

Basically what I'm after is using the free trial period to stream songs to my iPod to listen to and use at this party. And cancel once the trial ends. Does this sound feasible?

Also once you have streamed the music you want to the iPod, does it go to the iPods music library or will it be stored in the spotify app within the iPod. if this is the case do you need to be a premium member to listen to the songs you've streamed and saved?

Not sure about your last paragraph, because i havent looked into it that closely.

but as to the free trial and using it for a function , i have friends who have done this and it worked fine.

Also have a couple of friends who found all the songs they wanted on youtube, put them on a laptop loaded them into VLN player and connected the laptop audio out to the pubs hi-fi and bazinga ! music all night
