can't access internet after a break of an hour or so

If i finish doing what I'm doing on the internet and leave it dormant for an hour or so I can't access any websites when I return, although I'm still connected to the internet.
I have to reboot and reconnect to my ISP
Settings are to "never shut down" or "hibernate"
