Hi When i print an A4 photo on my Canon Pixma printer it is OK fot about one third of the way then it loses colour and the rest of the photo has a deep purple tinge to it Any Ideas please

That suggests that one or more of the printhead nozzles isn't functioning properly. Try running the deep cleaning process (for the colours only) several times. (In my experience, simply running it once is unlikely to fix any problems).

The path you require is:
Start > Settings > Printers & Faxes
Right-click the icon for your printer.
Then select Properties > Maintenance > Deep Cleaning.
(That's the path for XP but it's fairly similar in other versions of Windows).
