Paypal account closed but keep getting paypal email

I hope someone can help me out.I use to have a paypal account a while back & i closed it a few months back.Since then i have been getting emails sent to me saying that i need to verify my paypal accout & then i got an email saying my account has been suspended.But the account is closed so does anyone know what's going on?.

I don't know if this is some sort of email virus or scam because the email contains a link which i'm meant to click on.

I am planning to email paypal about this but i was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them?.The email that is sent to me is just a standard email.It doesn't have the paypal logo or anything like that.

I have a PayPal Account,and also get these emails!

They are spoof/scam mails,made even more obvious by the fact that you have closed you account,just ignore & delete them.If it worries you,then forward them to the (genuine) PayPal for their information.

I recently received an email (supposedly) from Barclays Bank, and I don't, and never have had an account with them.

Just be on your guard,and if in doubt just delete such mails!

SOME of the(fake) PayPal mails I got looked VERY genuine.

I have also recieved the Barclays Bank email telling me i need to action my account.But like you i don't have an account with them.

My mind has been put at ease as i was getting worried.The thing that got my attention was there was no paypal logo to make it look offical & i had to click on a link to continue with my account  process.

Invariably a scam, banks paypal etc will always tell you that they do not solicit information from you, happens to me regularly, just delete it

And when replying to a question if you sell on ebay, tick the 'hide my email address' box, I think asking these questions is how scammers get your mail address.#
