A relative in New Zealand kept asking me to get Skype which I finally have.They gave me their Skype name...how do I go about contacting them?

contacts/add contact/search Skype directory
Type in their Skype name
ADD THEM IN
Click Call to call them.

When you log onto your skype account in the left hand panel near the top there is a skinny search box just put their username in there and press enter

You can see on the contacts list which one has their skype program going. Seeing the time difference, it may be advisable to text or email them first so you can both be on skype at the same time.

Skype now also handles the Messenger program which was Windows Live Messenger.
