I finally gave in and accepted the first Nokia software update on my Asha 301, it cost around £5 in data charges, and have discovered since Nokia do not publish anything about what the updates do (unlike Windows for instance), and read an article that unless a new program pops up it's almost impossible to know what it's done. I also have no idea how frequent these are as unless it's something major I'm not spending that much again and will just ignore them. Are there any clues not available from Nokia themselves?

That's what deggers said, Nokia said in their message I would have to pay data charges, and as the phone appears identical to before I am at a loss as to what has been updated, and will definitely never do it again now the test has been failed. If the phone worked before and gained no features since why do they do it?
