Sky Broadband
A friend of mine has had Sky TV for a few years and was thinking of installing Sky Broadband. I've read the 'package' he received from Sky and as best I can make out its an additional £5 a month and free installation. However, everyone else he talks to says it will cost him a lot of money to install.
He's scared to ring them in case he gets 'rail-roaded' into something. So I'd like to be able to put his mind at rest,or indeed, dissuade him if you advise me to.
Any advice please.

One more thing. Does he need to buy a computer/lap-top before they install. I've told him he can borrow my lap-top to 'mess about' on. Would this be alright for installation if anything is needed?
He seems to think I'm an expert and will show him what to do. Lol. He's in for a rude awakening.

From memory, Sky will activate the line (they'll give him a time frame) send him the router which he'll set up. Whether he has a device is irrelevant, the connection will be available, he just won't be able to check it until he has something to check it with. Also bear in mind he'll start paying from when the service is started not from when he first connects to it.
Good luck ;)
