I can understand likng your friends' piccies etc, but when it comes to people that you don't know .......
......... I just don't get it !!
I see pictures, etc on FB and they sometimes have a caption telling you to like or share the picture.
Why ??
Is there some kinda Brucie Bonus that I'm unaware of, that the original poster of the piccie receives when they reach a set number of shares and likes ??
I doubt it, but why else do people ask you to like and/or share their piccies ??

I'm a regular Facebooker and I don't have this problem. It might be linked to your privacy settings, so maybe you should look at them and alter them so your stuff can only be seen by friends.

Then you will only be bothered by stupid ads telling you that a 50-year-old mum/mom [adjust to suit your demographic] looks 60 years younger/lost 250lb by following "this weird tip". Grrrr.

I don't think it's anything to do with privacy settings.
I'm only seeing the piccies as some of my friends share these photos, so they appear on my timeline.
It's when I look at the piccie that you can see the caption asking you to like or share the piccie.
It is only asking you to - just ignore it, I do.
Facebook is a good way of sharing pics with a group of people with a common interest. My friends are hill walkers and climbers and it is most enjoyable to see illustrated accounts of their adventures. Anything else that turns up can be ignored though if your personal settings are right for you there is very little of it.

You take what you want and "liking" is just a way of thanking people for what you enjoy.
It says like, share and comment under everything that appears on my FB - it's only a suggestion, not an order.
Ah, sorry, I misunderstood. I think the like/share buttons are things that come up automatically. Like Mamyalynne said, just ignore them.

But it's still worth looking at security settings, just in case friends of friends of friends are asking you to like totally irrelevant pics.

Some of the piccies that I see are just a complete waste of time.
For instance, there's a piccie of a penny and it'll have a caption such as, "share this lucky penny and money will come your way".
People actually share it (what a crock of sh!t), which is why it appears on my wall ...... when I have a look at the piccie, it shows it has having thousand's of shares ...... why are people really that gullible ..... or desperate to share cr@p like that ??
