Problems With Hotmail

What’s going on? Hotmail won’t let me into my account unless I tell them a security code I want sending to another email address but it won’t accept any code I try to put in and I as this is the first iv heard about security codes I know for a fact I haven’t told them a code. How do I get my email account back?

You don't tell them a code they email you a code to an alternative email account or via SMS. You will have been prompted to provide the details to do that when you last successfully logged in (probably).
