This Is Difficult Knowing How Many Oy You 'know' Mic.......
26 Answers
I got up this morning at 6 ish, made tea and took it in to Mic. The mess was terrible and it was everywhere, his face and hands and any where else you can think of. I got dressed and with gagging I did my best to clean up the mess. All Mic could say was "it wasn't me". He has carried this on through out the day saying please believe me. So I told him I believed him, this did calm him down. He was also very hot. I considered calling the Doc but on a weekend you get someone who doesn't speak English with an interpretor in tow so didn't bother. Since then I have given him 2 paracetamol every 4 hours and his temperature has lowered. I will call the surgery in the morning but what's bothering me is why this has happened. Mic has had a stroke, am I now looking at dementia. Why would anyone spread their, ....... every where?

You have done everything right and I do realise how hard this is for you. Try to get regular GP tomorrow and ask questions.

My cousin (a nun) came to visit me last August again long story (she was left in my house in a wheelchair distressed, confused and completely out of it) the relatives picked her up in a cuppla hours and a few days later was airplaned out to her home (convent) England - I put it down to dementia as she is 82 - but she rang me last week from the convent (nursing home) and I couldn't believe how compos mentis she was and begged me for me to send her a letter. I now believe she was dehydrated and malnourished (her choice) and the nursing home has put her on her feet. There are number of reasons why Mic has reacted this way. But should anything happen you certainly should have no regrets. JJCon
If you are talking about Poo (which is what I assume) trying to hide the fact that they have 'messed' themselves by 'hiding it' is common with elderly people with altzimers or dementia. Both I and my wife have worked in care homes and had to deal with it. They normally refuse to accept/ believe that it was them as well.
Sorry, but it looks like you are going to have to start putting him in incontinence pants.
Sorry again but if this gets worse you may have to start thinking about moving him to a care home.
