I would like to save these Jeremy Vine programmes to a disc to be played on a cd player:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/human

Is it possible to do it? And if so is it easy to do?!

And if it is easy to do, then how do I do it?!

Thanks.

Oh great - thanks for the link 237 although I'm not much use at things like this and get fairly anxious when I read things like audio capture and burner software!

When do you plan to do it? I might wait and see how you get on!!
Well, I might give it a go for something that is on the radio on Monday night - but don`t hold your breath! If I get any luck, I`ll let you know.
A friend of mine records podcasts onto disc and listens to them in her car. She`s away for Easter at the moment but I`ll ask her about it when she gets back and I have also just asked on my work forum for tips.

Excellent 237. I look forward to hearing from you.

Well, don`t bother downloading the capturing software from that link (which is WM Recorder, not VM Recorder as they say) because it is not free. The download is a demo version and only gives you 5 minutes of recording. I downloaded it and then had to uninstall it. It might work if you don`t mind paying though. Back to the drawing board..

Thanks for the update 237SJ. It's a shame that the link didn't work. I'll not use it.
I have asked one of my nephews about it so maybe he will be able to give us some advice. I'll let you know.
Hi again shivvy

There is some info here (on the last two paragraphs) about it. I might look in more depth tomorrow.
I have just had a brainwave as to how to record the programme I want (the one about pirate radio on BBC radio 2 tonight) - via my DVD recorder from Freeview. I think that`s the simplest way as I can then record from the hard drive to disc (this is after installing Audacity which looked a bit complicated so I then uninstalled it). The programme I am recording is not a podcast but I noticed that if you want to copy podcasts, you can do it on iTunes by searching for it in the iTunes store. Good luck.

Hi again,

My brother in-law is just off the phone telling me how to do it via itunes and it sounds really easy - famous last words!! It doesn't sound like it is right for you but you seem to have worked out a solution via your dvd and freeview.

Thanks for all your help and good luck with your mission!
I expect you have already sorted out what you want to do regarding the podcasts but I have just had a text from my friend and she said she can`t remember but she thinks ipodder rings a bell http://www.ipodder.org/directory/4/ipodderSoftware

Thanks for the link 237 but it was so easy in the end.
I right clicked on it and saved it to my desktop. I then dropped it into itunes where I moved it into a playlist. I put a cd in and clicked on burn to disc and hey presto it worked! Couldn't really believe it lol!!

Did you get yours sorted out?
That`s the good thing about iTunes - the software is quite simple. I managed to do mine as mentioned above (on the DVD recorder). I haven`t tried to copy to disc yet. I`ll have to check out what kind of disc. I think I can do DVDr, DVDwr and CD. I`m guessing it`ll be CD but I need to check out the spec of the recorder. I haven`t listened to it yet either (maybe I`d better catch up on iplayer just in case I`ve messed it up)!

Well done to both of us!
