Iphone6 Mail App Stopped Downloading Messages

About 10 days ago my iPhone 6 mail app stopped downloading messages.
I can send from there but it no longer receives.
I've tried:
Deleting the phone's mail account and re-creating
Re-setting the network settings
Mucking around with the fetch options and re-starting the phone

I can find nothing helpful about this on any forum anywhere

iOS 8.1.2 and the mail server is Yahoo

Have you tried doing a hard reset. Hold the off button and the menu button at the same time until the phone does a start up.

Tried that no joy.
I've also updated to 8.1.3
From what I've read there may be an issue with Yahoo mail and iOS.
I might try looking at the settings on the web interface.
I also was getting the infuriating message, when sending from Windows Mail, that my messages could not be sent due to 'possible abuse'. No doubt related to their software trying to be 'clever'. Bizarrely, a fix for that is to convert the message format to plain text though it still stops you sending to multiple recipients.
