Adobe Flash Player Problem
4 Answers
I have meddled with my PC settings, and now I have a problem. I tried to remove a pop-up warning that said 'Action Script Error on Adobe Flash Player' (even though Flash Player worked OK). I thought that I could just uninstall Flash Player, then reinstall it, and the warning would disappear. But now that I've done that, I cannot watch videos on BBC iPlayer, Channel 5, or Yahoo news. When I call up a programme on iPlayer, I see a message: you need to install Flash Player to play this content. Download Flash Player now. I click on Download Flash Player now, and I see a Flash Player help page, that says that I already have Flash Player. So why can't I watch iPlayer programmes? I am told that I need to install Flash Player, yet I am also told that I already have it, as an integral part of Windows 8. I open my PC's Downloads file, and Flash Player is listed there, as an application. Can anyone please help me to watch iPlayer programmes? I have Windows 8.1 and Internet 11 on a HP desktop PC.

Go to your list of installed programs and look for any entries relating to Adobe Flash Player. (I've got 2 of them). Uninstall any that you find.
Then RESTART YOUR COMPUTER!!!!
(That's in capitals because it's VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
Then go here:
https:/ /get.ad obe.com /flashp layer/
Deselect the 'Optional Offer' and click 'Install Now'. Note that if you're using certain browsers (such as Firefox), clicking that link alone does NOT install Flash Player. Once the installation file has downloaded you then need to access the download (which, in Firefox, is down by clicking the downward arrow at the top right of your screen) and double-click on it in order to install Flash Player.

Buenchico, many thanks for your answer, but I'm still going round in circles. Flash Player hasn't installed (it's not listed in Programs and Features), and the last message that I got from Adobe (after it had tried to install FP) was: Insufficient user privileges to install application. I'll have another try tomorrow.
