I bought a new laptop just after Christmas this year and I am having problems with my internet connection. Some days it works no problem and other days ( like today) the connection will keep dropping off for no reason. I also use a tablet at home and have no problem with the connection. I have spoken to my provider (Virgin) and the are unable to find a problem. Any tips on what the problem may be. Thanks in advance.

What is the make / model of Laptop and what is the operating system (assume Windows!?) ?

It may be that your laptop Wireless adapter is experiencing some intermittent wireless signal problems and reinstalling / updating the wireless adapter driver may help. An alternative is to consider using a Usb based wireless adapter costing a few pounds that may have a greater range and more robust, e.g. see:-
