Switching Talktalk To Post Office Broadband
I've been thinking of this but I've never switched before, are there any disadvantages, anything to watch out for? Will I be without internet for any time or any other things to watch out for. I'm not a techie type person so please make answers simple like me.

You need to check with Talk Talk how long you can keep an email address if you switch (some companies charge you a small fee to keep an email address).
This is why it is best NOT to have an email address tied to your ISP in case you switch.
Gmail from Google or Outlook (hotmail) from Microsoft are two of the many free ones available that are not tied to an ISP.
You can use both of them online via your browser so no complex setup.
(You may already use gmail or outlook so this info is just in case you dont)

Why are you thinking of changing to Post Office Broadband.?
If you are unhappy with the service which you are getting from Talktalk you could find yourself in the the same position with the Post Office , which has a poor reputation for Customer Service. In fact PO Broadband is operated by Talktalk.

The wi fi sounds more like a problem with the router than the broadband line itself.
Does wi fi only go wrong on the one device, or more than one. If it is only one device it may be the device itself that is at fault.
Is broadband ok when you are connected by cable or is it only wi fi?
Get talk talk to send you a new router.

Switching the Router off & on can sometimes make matters worse because false messages are sent to the Telephone Exchange which suggests that your telephone line is unable to handle the download speed which are being delivered to you. The result is that your line is automatically downgraded to receive lesser speeds and your Broadband will function less efficiently.
However, as your problem appears to only involve your wife's tablet, I am unable to visulise that changing to another ISP is going to be the answer to the situation which prevails.

I am at a loss to understand that, every time you have a problem with your WiFi connection, you then have a telephone call from a supposed Talktalk Techie.
Perhaps you should have a word with Talktalk because I am thinking that there could be a fault with your wife's Tablet and it is purely coincidental that you have been having Scam Calls from a supposed Talktalk person.
Meanwhile, if you really wish to reset your Router back to its Factory Default Settings Default. the following link should be followed.:-

It is, johnk. If you think somebody else is logging in to your wifi you need to change the password.
