Have recieved a email supposedly of Amazon, stating there may have been a customer password leak, and to go to their log in page and click on forgot password link and reset it.
Tried logging in using my password first, but attempts failed. Checked beforehand it had a locked padlock on address box. I have not continued with the recommend steps.
Anyone else had this email? Another scam maybe

Did you try to go in via the link in the email or did you start afresh and try to log in via the official amazon page.
Sounds like a scam to me- I cannot see Amazon admitting to a leak as such. And I haven't seen it in the press
Sounds like a scam.
I suggest you go to the real Amazon website and change your password urgently.

If the one you went to was a fake, you have revealed your password to the crook.
If you're concerned I'd ring amazon, they do speak to you eventually

Hopkirk I went to what I assumed was the legit site and checked and it had a locked padlock on address box.
Well this sounds curious.

If it is true, it will hit the news soon.
If you are on the genuine site and it won't accept your password then does it let you use the 'forgot my password' option?
Question Author
Didn't try that option ff wary of clicking link. Even though it seemed a legit login page.
Easy way to be sure is to ring Amazon on 0800 496 1081
As well as the padlock, check the the site address is

https://www.amazon.co.uk
But if you sign into a proper Amazon page that will be legit.
I'm confused as you said there was no link and now you say "wary of clicking link. Even though it seemed a legit login page".
