I recently received an email from Facebook saying 'Your account was recently logged in to from an unrecognised browser or device. Was this you?'
I am at the moment in the North East and the activity was in London.
I followed the links to change my password and all seemed fine. That was about three days ago. Today I have received the same message. Is this normal?
I don't want to be keep changing my password every few days.

It happened to me recently, in a different context, when I was logging in from my phone. For whatever reason, Facebook seemed to think I was logging in from somewhere rather a distance away from where I actually was. I never changed my password, and the alerts matched known usage.

I don't know if you'll need to change your password so often; the most sensible thing to do is keep track yourself of when you are logging into facebook, what device you are using, and where you are at the time. If that matches roughly what Facebook is saying, it's probably just you but tracked badly.
Keep an eye on your activity log.

jim360, yes the time and device matched. where I was at that time is more than 300 miles away so I'm supposing it is just badly tracked. I'll keep an eye out.

catswhiskas, I forgot all about the activity log. Just checked and as I've said above everything but the place seems ok.

Thanks both.
I have had this happen too...it regularly tells me that I am logging in about 40 miles from where I am.
