I haven't used Windows Live Mail since Adam was a boy, and have just opened it to find a zillion messages in the inbox. I'm sure I used to be able to delete them all at once, but I can't remember how to do it. Please would someone remind me?
I don't use WLM but the standard Windows 'block selection' technique works in every email client (and, indeed, in every web-based email service) that I've ever encountered.
So (just as if you were selecting a whole block of files in a folder) click on the first one and then hold down Shift while clicking on the last one. Then select 'Delete'.
If there are a few emails that you'd like to retain within a block, select the whole block and then hold down Ctrl while deselecting the relevant items.
Not working at the moment - I can only click on one at a time even with the shift key held. I gave up on Live mail originally because it wasn't working properly, so maybe this is yet another manifestation of that. I'll try again later. Thanks for the advice.
