Emails From Unknown Females !
13 Answers
I've had almost identical emails from two females whose names mean nothing to me.
The subject bar says ' Re; Derek ?'
The 1st message was ' Hi Derek, it's Mary.'
The second: ' Hi Derek, it's Julie'
The sender's email address in both cases consists of two female first names different from the above.
There is no attachment.
Scam or what ?
Cheers.

Hi Derek, it's Tilly. You can answer me but not Mary or Julie.

I assume there is a "link" in these emails. This link will take you to a dating web site, or a porn web site, or some other dodgy web site.
NEVER click on the links, NEVER reply to these emails (it only confirms the email address is live), NEVER unsubscribe from these emails (again confirms the email address is live).
As has been said above, these emails are almost certainly NOT from women but an anonymous man or group of men in Nigeria or wherever hoping to scam you.
Sadly now you have had two emails of this type you will probably get more. Once you are on a "scammers" email list it is hard to get off.
And as I said, if you reply in any way then you will be added to more scammers lists and get more junk emails.
It may get so bad you have to stop using that email address and start using a different one.
One of my male relatives has a reputation of going on "dodgy" web sites and he gets over a 100 "scam" emails a day. I know because I look after his computer and help "tidy it up"
