Falsely Accused Of Assault By Beating

My now ex girlfriend falsely accused me of assaulting her to the police. In self defence, I had grabbed her by the wrists and pushed her towards her bed as she was aggressively grabbing my coat and t-shirt trying to get her phone as I had just discovered that she was talking to another guy when Idesperately needed her support through difficult times yet managed to blame me for her mistakes. She was heavily intoxicated (I was sober) and this clearly had an effect on her judgement.

We were the only people in the room and I shortly ran out with her phone (she reported that I had stolen her phone but she had agreed to meet me at my house to exchange as she had my phone.) She had started shouting that I was hurting her and I had hit her purposely to draw her room mates attention and as a result she gave a statement to what she heard.

I've been charged with assault by beating & enable unauthorised access to program / data as I had posted on her Facebook about her cheating and being unsupportive (we had a mutual consent allowing us to use each others phones.) The police have also seized my phone although it wasn't in my possession and is apparently being used as evidence? Why have I been prosecuted unjustly?

I am pleading not guilty to the assault charge but i'd like some expert advice on how this could play out in court as I strongly believe that she will lose as there isn't substantial evidence to convict.

Grabbing her by the wrists and pushing her IS assault, so is grabbing her phone as I assume you forcefully snatched it off her?
Her statement is evidence and there may be evidence of aggression , texts for example, on your phone. You are NOT being prosecuted unjustly. You need to think again about pleading not guilty. If you go to court and plead not guilty you are going to lose the case.
You need to apologise and plead guilty, if you do this there is a good chance the case will be dropped or you will get a conditional discharge.

It's less than likely that the case will be dropped simply because he changes his plea, Eddie.

The matter is one of domestic violence and will not be treated lightly by the court in the event of a conviction. There are hundreds of "He hit me", "No I didn't" cases in court every week. It's impossible for anyone on here to forecast the outcome but if the alleged victim provides evidence to describe the events as you have then a conviction is highly likely.
