Still They Cannot Find Us
And once again Amazon Logistics fail to delver . Different reason this time though. they claim to need an access code to reach us. Funny how this is a country lane with a few bungalows and three farm yards, not a locked gate in sight.

Delivery date given, 21st December. Not delivered. Re-ordered. Delivery GUARANTEED 29th December. Not delivered, although courier recorded item as "delivered to outside porch". We don't have an outside porch. I asked Amazon for a refund. Instead, they have re-ordered the item and said delivery will now take place on 8th January. I no longer want the item but have no choice now but to wait for yet another delivery date to come and go. It will be a very long time before I order anything through Amazon again.
Palustris......Amazon Logistics need a lot of improvement. What nonsense to say they need an access code for a country lane.
chanel......You still have time to refuse acceptance of the Dolls House and receive a refund from Amazon. Even if the order is delivered, you will have 14days thereafter to tell Amazon that you No longer require the item and a further 14 days to return the goods for a refund.

If Amazon become awkward on the matter you can request further advice from your Local Authority's Consumer Protection Department; who might even take-up (free of charge) issues on your behalf.

Palustris....I also understand your problem. But I have spent the last 3 days, driving around a very rural and isolated part of Pembrokeshire, trying to find addresses.
This is not helped by the lack of clarity with some of them. For instance, its next to impossible to find addresses like this ::
Jones Farm
Crymych
SA41 XXX
I have been flagging down postmen to help me !

Mikey. The address given to Amazon is our full one, house number, road name, post code, county, etc.
They failed to deliver again today despite me spending 20 minutes on the phone to Customer services, once again giving detailed inofo on how to find us. Once again the claim it is because they need an access code to gain entry. I would dearly love to know where they are trying to get into.
We also gave them our phone number and permission to use it to ring when they entered the Post code area. Did they, like heck they did.
They will try again tomorrow, fifth time. Hah!

Palustris...it seems my problem is quite different to yours.
The difficulty I am having is the postcode is too vague, and not specific enough. But yours seems to reside with Amazon.
Your postcode contains everything that the driver needs to get to within a few yards of your house. In addition, Amazon have your telephone number to help them, which they mysteriously refuse to use.
I don't use Amazon, for reasons that might not be appropriate to discuss on this thread. But you see to have come across another perfectly good reason not to use them.
I have used Ebay on numerous occasions over the last few years, and rarely encountered any problems, mainly because most sellers use Royal Mail to deliver, not couriers, which seem to be Amazons chosen method. I have never, ever had any problem with the Royal Mail....their posties are quite the best that it is possible to get.
I suggest that you use ebay from now on.

Trouble is that Amazon publish and sell my books, so I have to keep on using them.
Sat Navs say we have arrived at our house about 3/4 of a mile away at a derelict farm. We have told them this 6 times now and given them info on how to proceed from there to us. They cannot do it.
They say they have investigated and that they have tried to deliver to the wrong address. We shall see what tomorrow brings, but I won't be holding my breath. Good job we are not going out any time in the next few days.

Palustris....I can now see the nub of your problem....your postcode has been incorrectly set up.
There is a simple way around this. All SatNavs allow you to put in an address, as well as a postcode. If the Amazon drivers were to try that, instead of using the postcode, then at least they would be on the right road.
Although this still doesn't explain why a permanent note has not been put onto your address with Amazon, so that future deliveries are less troublesome...the ball is still firmly in Amazons court.

Thanks for the empathy Mikey. they failed to deliver again today. So we have cancelled the order and got our money back. Now I have to find an alternative source at the same sort of price.
The Email I sent would have blistered paper. Did me good but I don't suppose it will make any difference to their appalling service.
